If anybody still follows the blog, I'd like to say that my experience at RIT was wonderful, and thank you to everyone that helped me with my project and my presentation. I'll keep blogging about my career just in case anyone is interested! Like JobManifesto.com and support us!

Today I finalized the project up until lunch. At practice, I felt very comfortable and feel like I did well, despite countless comments and suggestions. I have taken them all into account and am currently finalizing... for the third time... Tomorrow will be a breeze!

Yesterday was all about MatLab. I had already learned how to get all the graphs, so I just had to perform the operation. I coded most of the data and got my results. At the presentation practice, though, my colleagues pointed out that I overlooked the scale, not realizing that MatLab scales according to the data. Along with this, there were many other suggestions that they had for my presentation. Beside these, which today will fix, I believe it went very well.

Due to the SMI being held up in the DPI lab, the first half of the day involved presentation work. All I need to finish are my results! Once I got an SMI laptop, I tested one more intern to get a total of 8 participants. I believe that this won't be enough for the most ideal data, but it should still work. I set up the BeGaze after Nick tested more people, and I got a chart of the diameters. I just need to make a graph, which will be easy, then begin MatLab.

You never usually have a good day when you start it late, but today was quite productive, despite my arriving fifteen minutes late. I had forgotten my flash drive, so I had to go back. I began the day reading a little bit from the chapter since Sue needed the SMI. Then, after lunch, I tested my friend Jason from another part of the campus as well as Bob. I believe this will suffice for my participants, since there is not much time to analyze. Right after I tested Bob, I was asked to assist in moving the SMI to the DPI lab. After doing this, I got to watch several people put the SMI with the DPI in order to track one eye with both machines. This was an interesting conclusion to my day, and out of the ordinary. Tomorrow I will try to begin analysis!

I have officially begun my first RIT experiment. Yesterday I finished my project, so today I began testing. I was able to get five people to come in today, some with more useful data than others. All in all, though, the experiment has been going better than I had anticipated. Tomorrow I'll have several others come in, including a friend from outside the building. I plan to finish all my testing this week, analyze the data next week, and finalize everything just in time for the presentation. It will be difficult, but not too much to handle. The powerpoint is all set up and just needs some more information. And I've also begun my movie for the intern challenge. If anybody would like to be tested, let me know!

Today's discussion went very well. My questions received good answers, though they did not draw up much discussion. We got the privilege of meeting Kenneth Holmqvist, a major author of our book! There were also several other new faces who all gave great input and taught me more about eye tracking and its advancements. My project was completed today, and I dry ran through it to be ready to administer the test. Testing will begin tomorrow!
